While planning your upcoming vacation, take a few minutes to brush up on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chministries.org\/chm-guidelines\/\">CHM Guidelines<\/a>\u00a0regarding how CHM works while traveling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important things to know as you plan your getaway:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Traveling stateside<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CHM is fully portable within the states. With no healthcare provider network by which you must abide, you have flexibility to choose your own doctor\u2014even on a trip. Eligibility doesn\u2019t change state-by-state, so be sure to check the CHM Guidelines to see if your intended testing or treatment is eligible for sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Travel abroad <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>International travel is a great way to experience different cultures and explore God\u2019s creation! There are some things to consider as you prepare to travel to other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need medical care during a vacation abroad, medical expenses for foreign healthcare providers will be authorized in accordance with the CHM Guidelines. Eligible medical bills must be translated into English and converted into U.S. currency before CHM can process them. It\u2019s also important to note that emergency transportation to the U.S. from a different country\u2014or between countries\u2014is ineligible for sharing at any time. As a safeguard, consider travel insurance prior to your trip that includes medical transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While CHM will share eligible medical bills from foreign providers for members who are traveling outside the country, \u201cmedical tourism\u201d is ineligible for sharing. Medical tourism occurs if members choose to travel outside of the country for the purpose of undergoing medical testing or treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re looking at family vacation ideas, you can explore options in your own backyard\u2014and far beyond!
