When you hear the phrase, what comes to mind?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps you think of images of less-than-favorable vegetables, small portion sizes, or the food pyramid you learned about in school. Or maybe you think about healthy snacks you enjoy, a favorite fitness class, or health articles about the latest nutritional trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The choices we make surrounding healthy eating matter to God. Fueling our bodies properly impacts how well we function and directly shapes our ability to serve in our communities, churches, families, and more. Crafting a healthy meal plan and building strong nutritional habits equips us with the tools we need to thrive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-constrained wp-block-column-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthy eating: Making a meal plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Quality of life is determined by many factors, including physical health, nutrition, and spiritual wellness. That\u2019s why learning how to stay healthy by making good food choices is crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eating healthy on a budget is possible. Here\u2019s a few tips as you look for healthy food choices and craft a strategy to stay on track:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Start small:<\/strong> Identify a few areas where you can swap your current \u201cgo-to\u201d choice for new healthy eating habits. It can be as simple as incorporating more whole grains, trying out a new fruit salad recipe, or downloading a hydration tracker to drink more water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Look local:<\/strong> Try out in-season fruits or vegetables that grow in your area. A farmer\u2019s market is a great way to shape a healthy meal plan while supporting your neighbors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plan ahead:<\/strong> When we\u2019re rushed for time, the quickest option may not be the healthiest option. Create a schedule and grocery shop at the beginning of the week so you\u2019ll have what you need on hand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Find the fun<\/strong>: Explore the cuisine of a different culture, go through the alphabet and pick a food to try that starts with a particular letter, or shop with a friend. You are not your own;&nbsp;you were bought at a price.&nbsp;Therefore honor God with your bodies.\u201d [1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NIV]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSo whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God\u201d [1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWhen you have eaten and are satisfied,&nbsp;praise the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;your God for the good land He has given you.\u201d [Deuteronomy 8:10, NIV]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cBut I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.\u201d&nbsp;[Jeremiah 30:17, NIV]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>God wants to see us pursue the dreams and goals He\u2019s placed in our hearts.
