Steven Medina
Steven Medina, Worship Leader

Originally from Salinas, CA, Steven came to know the Lord in August of 1999. Raised in a Catholic home, his newfound relationship with God was surprisingly miraculous and instantaneous. The Lord had saved him at a point in his life when he was questioning God’s love for him as well as others like him. Steven holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Southern California and is Payroll Director of a large Financial Management Company. His ministry goal is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen.

Steven’s love for worship is a key element of Dapstep Ministries.  Helping bring God’s people into the Holy of Holies is Steven’s desire each and every time He leads worship.  “Dios te ama exactamente como eres. Nunca te olvides que El te ama y te ha llamado a salvación que solamente se encuentra en su hijo, Jesucristo.”

David Medina S.

David Medina, Administrative Pastor and Worship Leader

David was saved at the age of five and has been involved in music ministry since age eight. He has tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to “retire” from worship ministry, but in 2011, he realized his life-long dream of music evangelism when Dapstep Ministries was born.

A native of San Francisco, David graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Public Administration and received an MBA from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA.  He is Vice-President of Human Resources for a Federal Credit Union.  David declares unashamedly that our Heavenly Father is the GOD of RESTORATION and it does not matter where you are on your journey. God wants you just the way you are - and He wants you now!

"Hoy es el día de salvación.  Dios te ama así como eres.   Nunca te olvides de Su misericordia."

Moses Mwangi Mukami

Moses Mwangi Mukami, Pastor

Moses joined Dapstep Ministries in November 2012 as the ministry began to prepare for Phase II, “An Evening with Dapstep Ministries.”

Originally from Kenya, Moses immigrated to the United States after a very successful public service career in Kenya. In fact, his political prowess was evident still some time into his arrival to the United States until news of his “coming out” made headlines back in Africa.

Amongst various political posts, Moses remains at the helm of the Mwangi Mukami Foundation, an organization inspiring and motivating young people to dream and realize hopes.

Professionally, Moses works in housing of previously homeless individuals in San Francisco. He continues to be an advocate of the underserved and is committed to helping each and every individual rise out of poverty.

As far as ministry, Moses is a genuine example of God’s love and renewal. Even at such a young age, his counsel and wisdom contend with his elders. His preaching is dynamic, inclusive, and centering endlessly on the cross.

Reuben Morgan’s song, still, pinpoints Moses’ belief in God’s everlasting comfort: “When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You, above the storm. Father, You are king over the flood. I will be still and know You are God.”

Daisy Reyes

Daisy Reyes, Treasurer

Daisy joined Dapstep Ministries in January 2013 as the ministry began Phase II: “An Evening with Dapstep Ministries.” Quite frankly, Daisy did not know what she was getting into when she was invited to a Dapstep Ministries worship service. She immediately fell in love with the worship style and even though it is quite different than her Roman Catholic parish, she not only assimilated quite quickly but immediately began to serve.

According to our worship leaders, Daisy becomes lost in worship. The Lord gives her a perfect peace each and every time she’s surrounded by worship. She demonstrates her love for God by her kind words, her constant praise, and her desire to always give: truly, a servant’s heart.

Originally from the Philippines, Daisy has lived in the United States for most of her life and works for a vocational training center helping foreign workers the English language and U.S. job skills to successfully gain employment.

Daniel Kuan
Daniel Kuan, Pastor, Spanish Language Ministry

Daniel was invited to become the Spanish Language Ministry leader at Dapstep Ministries even before he visited his first Dapstep Service.  His appearance might be puzzling since he is from Peru, speaks fluent Spanish, but is of Chinese and Japanese heritage.  However, Dapstep Ministry leaders were and are convinced that Daniel was hand chosen by God to lead this crucial ministry as we begin to outreach to the Latino and Spanish-speaking LGBTQ community.

Daniel came to the Lord in 1997 after being misled into attending an all-night vigil where the Lord proved He is a God of restoration.  Soon afterward, he found a love for and became active in ministry, even serving in the pastorate, until being forced to leave when outed to his church.

Even though Daniel came to know the Lord in his early adulthood, his heart and passion for the Lord competes with the most mature Christian.  Along with his husband, Luis, whom he married in 2010, both grew in the Lord at Freedom in Christ Church in San Francisco.

Daniel is an accomplished ballet dancer, has a heart for the LGBTQ community, and most notably, has a passion to reach the Latino communtiy for Christ.

Cuán hermosos son sobre los montes los pies del que trae alegres nuevas, del que anuncia la paz, del que trae nuevas del bien, del que publica salvación, del que dice a Sion, "Tu Dios reina!"  Isaías 52:7
Claudia Amador
Claudia Amador, Fellowship Leader

Claudia joined Dapstep Ministries in the Summer of 2016 as we began Dapstep 2.0.  Claudia is originally from Chinandega, Nicaragua, and met the Lord in the same Baptist Church where David Medina served in his early life.  In fact, they’ve known each other since their early teens.

Claudia is the embodiment of a woman with a servant’s heart; but this is not a mystery.  Claudia’s parents were faithful servants at Primera Iglesia Bautista del Sur in San Francisco for many years and Claudia’s mom has always been instrumental in fellowship ministry.  Now, Claudia lives her mother’s example and keeps us fed, prepares the Lord’s Table, and organizes the “Hygiene Bags for the Homeless” project, our very first and exciting community service project.

Claudia has become such a vital, integral part of Dapstep Ministries that it became obvious, very quickly, she would become part of our leadership.

Claudia and her husband, Javier, live in Pinole.  They have four children.
